I John 1:1 says "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life."
The first disciples proclaimed the gospel based on personal experiences with Christ our savior. Today, we have that same privilege. We also have personal relationships with God and can learn from Him every day. There's an old saying back from when I was a teenager that said "What Would Jesus Do?" Have you ever taken the time to ask what Jesus' response would be to particular situations? Have you studied the Bible and seen how Jesus' responded? What can you tell others about Him? Sometimes we forget that Jesus came for us, to serve us. Mark 10:45 -"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." This was an example that Christ gave us and in turn we must follow that by serving others. It simply is laying down our life for others. Let's take a few minutes today and look around us. Are there people who are hurting? Are there circumstances that we can bring Christ's love and change it? What can we do today that shows others our personal relationship with Christ and brings them also to Him. Isn't that what it's all about?
